Giris ve amaç: Helikobakter pilori (Hp) infeksiyonu, dünyadaki en yaygi n enfeksiyon olup, ülkemiz yapilan çalismalara göre, Helikobakter pilori infeksiyon sikligi açisindan riskli ülkeler arasinda yer almaktadir. Bu çalismayi yapmaktaki amacimiz, son 10 yilda özellikle bölgemizde Hp sikligi açisindan bir degisiklik olup olmadigini arastirmaktir. Gereç ve yöntem: Çalismaya, 0-30 yas arasi 267 asemptomatik kisi alindi. Hp’ye karsi olusmus IgG anti-Hp antikorlar ELISA yöntemiyle ölçüldü. Bulgular: Çalisma grubunda Hp antikor sikligi; 0-5 yas arasi % 22.6, 6- 10 yas arasi % 28.6, 11-15 yas arasi % 40.8, 16-20 yas arasi % 50, 21- 30 yas arasi % 60.4 olarak saptandi. 0-30 yas grubunda ise Hp antikor sikligi %46.4 idi. Erkek ve kadinlar arasinda prevalans farki saptanmadi. Sonuç: 10 yil öncesine göre bölgemizde Hp seroprevalansi azalmistir (p<0.5). Bu durum, son yillarda Helikobakter pilori’yi ekarte etmek için yaygin olarak uygulanan çesitli eradikasyon tedavilerine, bazi çevresel ve hijyen kosullari ile sosyoekonomik durumlarda iyilesmeye bagli olabilir.
Background/aim: Helicobacter pylori infection is the most widespread infection in the world. Our country has Hp infection risk in developing countries according to Hp infection frequency studies. In this study, our aim was to investigate whether or not there has been a variation in frequency of antibody response in our region. Materials and methods: 267 asymptomatic persons aged between 0-30 were included in the study. IgG anti Hp antibodies were measured by ELISA method. Results: Antibody frequency in our study group was 22.6% between ages 0 and 5, 28.6% between ages 6 and 10, 40.8% between ages 11-15, 50% between ages 16-20, and 60.4% between ages 21-30. The total Hp antibody prevalence was 46.4% in the study group. According to these results, Hp seroprevalence decreased significantly when compared to the results from 10 years previously (p<0.05). Conclusion: Hp prevalence has decreased over the past 10 years (p<0.5). We think these results can be attributed to improvement in socioeconomical factors and sanitation, some enviromental factors and widespread application of Hp eradication treatment.
